Gillian was born in Bangor, Northern Ireland and has lived in York for the last sixteen years. Married to Naithan with 2 children Darcey and Reuben and recently become a new mum to a cockapoo puppy called Poppy.

Staying fit and exercising is an important part of her life and her biggest achievements over the last few years has been completing the Great North Run twice and about to attempt again in September Skiing enthusiast who is by no means brilliant but loves the holiday and the apres!!

Gillian McBride's Story
I have worked in finance recruitment for the last fifteen years. I started my career mainly specialising in junior finance recruitment but for the last 9 years have focussed on the newly qualified and middle management market in the North and West Yorkshire area. My roles have included;
- Business Manager for a global Plc working closely with businesses across West Yorkshire from large corporate clients to smaller enterprises.
- Director for a leading privately invested recruitment business responsible for managing client and candidate relationships across the region.
I am a language graduate from Queens University, Belfast and started my working career in logistics before making a change to work in recruitment in 2005.
Joined Hays in 2005 -2014 and was promoted quickly to Business Manager. I mainly specialised in recruiting part and newly qualified recruitment. My success has come in being passionate about ensuring both my clients and candidates receive a personal and honest service with a consultative approach.
Nik Pratap was my Manager for 6 of my years at Hays and therefore a year after he had joined Brewster Pratap it was a “no brain” decision to join him.
I joined Brewster Pratap as a Director and was influential in helping to grow the Leeds business. It was an exciting opportunity to establish myself as a consultant and grow my client network in the region. I had the opportunity and exposure to PE businesses, working with the accountancy Institutes, leading and winning many campaigns and pitches for business in both corporate and SME organisations.
Extremely proud and excited to be working both with Nik as the Managing Partner, Nicola and Elise in this next chapter of our recruitment careers. We have known each other and worked with each other for many years and our shared experience, reputation and passion for what we do is the driving force for our future success.
